In his presentation, Academician C. Mohan systematically reviewed the evolution of artificial intelligence—tracing its journey from early symbolic reasoning to contemporary deep learning, and looking ahead to future trends that integrate reasoning with learning. He placed particular emphasis on the crucial role of high-quality data in AI's advancement. Furthermore, he explored AI's application potential and associated challenges in fields such as scientific research, healthcare, and sustainable development, addressing issues including environmental costs, data privacy, and ethical governance.

The "Turing Forum" lecture series is organized by the Zhejiang University College of Computer Science and Technology.
