Recently, the 2024 Intel China Academic Summit took place in Ningbo. During the Academic Achievement Awards ceremony, the AI+X team, led by Professor Wu Fei from Zhejiang University, received the "Intel China Academic Achievement Award (Excellence in Innovation)." Additionally, Researcher Fan Hehe was recognized as an "Intel China Academic Talent Program Honorary Scholar." Meanwhile, the Zhihai-Sanle Education Grand Model, co-developed by Zhejiang University, Higher Education Press, Alibaba Cloud Computing Co., Ltd., and Huayuan Computing, earned the "Most Popular Exhibition Award."

The AI+X team from Zhejiang University's College of Computer Science and Technology, led by Professor Wu Fei, includes key members such as Xiao Jun, Yang Yi, Huang Zhengxing, Wu Chao, Yang Yang, Kuang Kun, Fan Hehe, Chen Jingyuan, Zhao Zhou, and Zhu Qiang. The Intel China Academic Achievement Award honors teams that have made outstanding contributions to original academic research and technological innovation in information science, significantly advancing the field over the past three years while promoting high-level applications of research outcomes.

The AI+X team has made significant progress in areas such as professional courses, general education, interdisciplinary studies, AI+X micro-majors, online and offline teaching, the Zhihai training platform, and the Zhihai-Sanle large model. They have been committed to developing resources like textbooks, courses, and platforms for AI education, making substantial contributions to artificial intelligence education and talent development. The team is recognized for its interdisciplinary focus and strong emphasis on cultivating new talent. Another recipient of the "Intel China Academic Achievement Award (Excellence in Innovation)" was the team led by Professor Sun Maosong from Tsinghua University.

To broaden the academic horizons of emerging technological talents, Intel and the China Computer Federation (CCF) launched the five-year "CCF-Intel Young Scholar Advancement Program" in 2013. Over the years, this program has supported over 30 young talents from domestic universities and research institutions, many of whom have become industry leaders. In 2022, the program was upgraded to the "Intel China Academic Talent Program," aiming to help young scholars achieve breakthroughs in research and personal development.

Due to his exceptional work in artificial intelligence, computer vision, and AI for Science, Zhejiang University's Researcher Fan Hehe, along with nine other young scholars from universities and research institutes across China—including Hu Bin from South China University of Technology, Liu Shengzhong from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Qu Peng from Tsinghua University, Shi Jinglei from Nankai University, Wang He from Peking University, Zhang Kai from Fudan University, Zhang Yu from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Zhu Guanghui from Nanjing University—was named an "Intel China Academic Talent Program Honorary Scholar" for 2024. This award recognizes their forward-thinking contributions to both theoretical and applied research.

During the summit's demo session, the Zhihai-Sanle Education Large Model, jointly developed by Professor Wu Fei's team from Zhejiang University and Higher Education Press, among other institutions, was featured as a case study and won the "Most Popular Exhibition Award." This model is based on core textbooks from the New Generation Artificial Intelligence Series and the 101 Plan, utilizing high-quality textbook-level data in artificial intelligence to create an educational large model.

The Zhihai-Sanle model integrates functions like search engines, computing engines, and localized knowledge databases, leveraging AI technology to provide personalized learning services, including real-time Q&A and learning resource recommendations. It establishes a new paradigm for AI-driven education. The model attracted significant attention at the event, sparking widespread interest and reflection on the integration of large models with the education sector.
