Held from September 15 to 20, 2024, the 48th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals took place in Astana, Kazakhstan. The competition, a global stage for the world’s most talented student programmers, featured participants from over 3,000 institutions across 111 countries. After a fierce contest among the top programming teams, the Zhejiang University team—consisting of Tang Jiachen, Li Changdong, and Li Weinuo from the College of Computer Science and Technology—achieved an impressive 10th place finish, solving eight problems and securing a bronze medal.

Zhejiang University’s programming team is renowned for its outstanding track record in both domestic and international competitions. Among its most notable accomplishments are a gold medal at the 35th ACM ICPC World Finals in Orlando, USA, in 2011, and a silver medal at the 33rd ACM ICPC World Finals in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2009. These accolades continue to solidify the university’s position as a leader in the global programming competition arena.
