The award ceremony of the second "Speak Cup" Data Challenge was successfully held on September 12 at the Bund Conference. As a nationally recognized third-party competition recommended by the National Data Administration for the "Data Element ×" initiative, the "Speak Cup" focuses on applying and innovating trusted data circulation technologies. This year’s event aimed to accelerate the implementation of these technologies, injecting new momentum into the development of the data market.

As one of the co-organizers, the College of Computer Science and Technology at Zhejiang University leveraged its academic strengths and industry-academia-research integration capabilities. Working closely with Ant Privacy Computing and other partners, the college helped build a high-level, influential platform for professional competition. Its deep expertise in computer science and artificial intelligence provided solid academic and technical guidance, ensuring the competition’s topics were both cutting-edge and practical. This further highlighted the event’s role in advancing technological progress and fostering ecosystem growth.
To ensure fairness and broad participation, the rules explicitly prohibited employees of organizing and supporting institutions from taking part. Throughout the process, the competition adhered to principles of standardization, openness, and impartiality.
Under the guidance of the Internet Society of China, the event garnered support from over 20 institutions and communities, including Shanghai AI Laboratory, ATEC, ModelScope, Intel, and Newest Security. Since its launch in June, it attracted more than 300 teams from leading companies such as Tencent, ByteDance, Meituan, China Unicom, China UnionPay, and China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, as well as over 70 universities like Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Shandong University. The scale, diversity, and social impact of the competition saw significant growth.

Final Winners Announced
This year’s "Speak Cup" expanded from a single track to three distinct categories: "Healthcare," "Privacy-Preserving Inference for Large Models," and "Cryptography." The design addressed real industry needs while tackling emerging challenges such as privacy protection in large models, showcasing the competition’s role in bridging theory and practice and integrating technology with real-world scenarios.
According to Zhang Bingsheng, a ZJU Hundred-Talent Program researcher and Deputy Director of the Speak Community Talent Development Committee, the "Speak Cup" is a high-level professional contest dedicated to advancing trusted data circulation technologies. It aims to connect industry demands with technical talent. Through close collaboration, Zhejiang University and Ant Privacy Computing have joined forces to cultivate skilled professionals and accelerate the growth of the data industry by "rewarding competence, promoting application, and fostering training through competition."
The College of Computer Science and Technology at Zhejiang University remains committed to its tradition of "putting people first, valuing harmony, and embracing change." By organizing high-level competitions and integrating contest-based learning into education, it continues to nurture globally competitive innovators and leaders in computer science, addressing both frontier technologies and national innovation needs.
