Zhejiang University State Key Laboratory of Blockchain and Data Security Leads Multiple ISO/IEC SC27 and SC44 International Standards

From September 8 to 18, 2025, the working group and plenary meetings of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC27 (Subcommittee on Information Security, Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection) and ISO/IEC JTC1/SC44 (Subcommittee on Consumer Privacy Protection in Privacy by Design) were held in Kunming, Yunnan, China.Dr. Zhang Bingsheng, a researcher at Zhejiang University’s National State Laboratory of Blockchain and Data Security, participated as a member of the Chinese delegation, making steady progress in the development, revision, and preliminary research of multiple international standards. The key outcomes are as follows:

ISO/IEC DIS 27565Guidelines for Privacy Protection Based on Zero-Knowledge Proofs (Chief Editor: Zhang Bingsheng) — successfully advanced to the FDIS voting stage

ISO/IEC PWI 27576Privacy and Security Guidelines for Intelligent Mobility Services (Deputy Editor: Zhang Bingsheng) — successfully initiated

ISO/IEC PWI 26222Application of Privacy-Enhancing Technologies in Consumer Privacy by Design (Chief Editor: Zhang Bingsheng) — successfully initiated

ISO/IEC PWI 31700-3Privacy by Design Audit for Consumer Products and Services (Deputy Editor: Zhang Bingsheng) — advanced to the second edition

ISO/IEC PWI 26211Consumer Privacy by Design Guidelines for Online Service Platforms (Deputy Editor: Zhang Bingsheng) — successfully initiated



In addition, Dr. Zhang Bingsheng serves as the liaison officer between ISO/IEC JTC1/SC44 and JTC1/SC27.

As the world’s leading international standardization organization, ISO (International Organization for Standardization) plays a crucial role in setting global standards. Zhejiang University’s State Key Laboratory of Blockchain and Data Security will continue to promote China’s participation and leadership in the international standardization of cybersecurity, contributing more of the country’s advanced technologies, best practices, and achievements to the global community.
