ZJU Students Receive 10 Gold Medals in ACM Asia Competition

The ACM International College Programming Contest from October to December 2017 saw the ZJU Programming Team send out 7 groups of participants. The teams consist of 21 students from College of Computer Science, Chu Kochen Honors College and College of Aerospace, all lead by coach Wang Can and Weng Kai.


In the 6 matches that took place in the Shenyang, Xian, Qingdao, Beijing, Nanning and Shanghai regions, the ZJU Programming Team won 10 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze, creating its most successful campaign in the ACM Asia Competition. Team LEGILIMEN became champion of the Qingdao region, which marks the first time our school have won first place in the domestic division of the ACM Asia Competition. With this victory, our school have advanced to the ACM Grand Finals held by Beijing University.



In the ACM-ICPC Qingdao region, Team LEGILIMENS received first place. The team consists of Chen Qianbang (Chu Kochen Honors College of Computer Science, class of 2016) and Liu Mingrui (class of 2017). In the meantime, Team HEPHAESTUS with Liu Rui (Chu Kochen Honors College of Computer Science, class of 2016) and He Sirui (College of Computer Science, class of 2016) received gold medal. Team RUNTIME=-1000ms finished with a bronze medal.


In the ACM-ICPC Beijing region, Team RECONQUISTA of Jiang Shibiao (Chu Kochen Honors College, class of 2017), Chen Shihan (College of Computer Science, class of 2015) and Yan Jiangzhe (College of Aerospace, class of 2015) won gold medal. Team LEGILIMENS also won gold and Team Hephaestus got silver.


In the ACM-ICPC Xian region, Team LEATHERCLUB of Wang Yuhan (Chu Kochen Honors College, class of 2016), Liu Zhenwei (College of Computer Science, class of 2017) and Wang Yucheng (class of 2015) won gold medal. RUNTIME=-1000ms also received gold. Team SOMETEAMSNAIVE with Wang Yize (Chu Kochen Honors College of Computer Science, class of 2016), Chenhanyi (College of Computer Science, class of 2016) and Zheng Honghu (College of Architecture, class of 2016) won sliver.


In the ACM-ICPC Nanning Region, Team RECONQUISTA and Team LEATHERCLUB won gold. Team SOMETEAMSNAIVE got bronze. In the ACM-ICPC Shenyang Region, Team AFTERMATH with Peng Zihan (Chu Kochen Honors College of Computer Science, class of 2016), Zhao Jinglin and Tang Xiaohu (both from College of Computer Science, class of 2016) received silver. In the ACM-ICPC ECL-Final (held in Shanghai), Team LEGILIMENS and Team RECONQUISTA won gold, and Team LEATHERCLUB received bronze.


The ZJU Programming Team also participated in the China Collegiate Programming Contest (CCPC), where they finished with a remarkable record of 5 gold and 1 silver. Team RECONQUISTA from our school won 2nd place in the CCPC Grand Finals in Harbin. In the CCPC Harbin Region, Team LEGILIMENS won gold. Meanwhile in the Hangzhou Region, Team RECONQUISTA and Team LEATHERCLUB both received gold, and Team AFTERMATH got silver.
