Zhejiang University Thrives at the First China Collegiate Computing Contest - Artificial Intelligence Innovation Contes

The final of the first China College Computing Contest - Artificial Intelligence Innovation Contest was held on October 27, 2018. The students from the College of Computer Science and Technology have performed well and won several prizes, including the grand prize, first prize and second prize. Pan Yunhe, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering(CAE), Wu Zhaohui, ZJU president and academician of Chinese Aacademy of Science(CAS), Wu Cheng, Zheng Nanning, Gao Wen, three CAE academicians, Wang Haifeng, senior vice president of Baidu, together with dozens of scholars attended the ceremony and witnessed the excellent performance of the Zhejiang University students in the top-level collegiate artificial intelligence contest.

 

China College Computing Contest - Artificial Intelligence Innovation Contest is a science and technology competition for students of all majors in colleges and universities. It was hosted by the Ministry of Education, Computer Science Professional Teaching Steering Committee, and the Ministry of Education Software Engineering Professional Teaching Steering Committee.

 

1049 teams from 369 colleges at home and abroad signed up for the competition. After online screening and expert review, a total of 120 teams entered the semi-finals and 37 were selected to enter the final road show. All the teams that entered the finals participated in a five-day final training camp organized by Baidu in Beijing in late August. On October 26th, all the final teams carried out the project road show in the national finals and went through professional examination by expert judges.

 

A total of six teams from Zhejiang University signed up for the contest, and they won the grand prize, a first prize and a second prize.The project of intelligent financial risk control model for mobile phone rental business (by Hu Sihao, Yuan Jiaqi, Wu Zetian) won grand prize of the competition. The project of You speak I paint (by Zhang Shengyu, Jiang Yinjie, Liao Binbing) won the first prize, and the project ofintelligent recognition and auxiliary diagnosis system for thyroid nodule images (by Shao Ping, Kong Ming, Zhao Tianqi) won the second prize. There remarkable performance fully demonstrated Zhejiang University's outstanding innovation capability and strong hands-on skills in the field of artificial intelligence.
