On January 14-15, 2021, the Workshop of Big Data Analysis, Visualization and its Application in Health Science was hosted online by the College of Computer Science and Technology at Zhejiang University, co-hosted by the Big Data Professional Committee of Chinese Graphics Society and the Network Health Big Data Research Center of Zhijiang laboratory. Professor CHANG Jian of Bournemouth University and Professor LI Jinsong of Zhejiang University presided the workshop.

The conference brought together researchers from China, Britain and other countries to exchange ideas on the frontier research on big data analysis, visualization and its application in the field of medical imaging, including researchers from Zhejiang University, Bournemouth University, Ritsumeikan University and Zhijiang Lab.

In this workshop, the researchers had a heated discussion revolving on the areas of big data and machine learning, animation simulation and visualization, medical image processing in artificial intelligence, intelligent diagnosis and virtual reality, surgical gesture recognition and simulation and other applications on big data analysis in the medical field.

Scholars in the workshop reached to a consensus that medical image big data processing combined with deep learning method would be the most important breakthrough in this field. The workshop further promoted the cooperation and exchange between the research team of ZJU College of Computer Science and Technology and international scholars.
