On December 13, 2024, Zhejiang University welcomed a group of 39 students and teachers from Kun Cheng High School in Malaysia as part of the "Study Abroad at Zhejiang University" Winter Camp. The group visited the Artificial Intelligence Exhibition Hall on the second floor of the Yueyue Building in the Zijingang campus, where they were guided by ZJU faculty members and international student representatives. They had the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the academic environment at the College of Computer Science and Technology, as well as the latest developments in the field of artificial intelligence.
The event was hosted by Ye Yihan, the international coordinator of the Research and Foreign Affairs Office at the College of Computer Science and Technology. The session began with Ms Ye introducing the overall situation of the college, providing detailed insights into its academic structure, research achievements, and international development strategy. This introduction helped the Malaysian students gain a comprehensive understanding of the academic atmosphere, teaching resources, and research strengths of the college.
In the following segment, undergraduate and graduate student representatives from Malaysia shared their experiences with their studies and life at ZJU. Xiao Jiening, the undergraduate representative, talked about her personal growth through the collision of Eastern and Western cultures while studying Information Security at the College of Computer Science. She elaborated on her learning experiences, competition involvement, extracurricular activities, and social practice, as well as shared valuable tips on applying for ZJU.
Qiu Yongjie, the graduate representative, discussed his academic exploration and challenges during his graduate studies at ZJU, emphasizing the rich resources and support provided to international students. After the sharing session, the Malaysian students actively interacted with senior students.
At the end of the event, all participants toured the Artificial Intelligence Exhibition Hall, where they had a close-up experience of ZJU’s cutting-edge research in the field of artificial intelligence. Through interactive exhibits and professional explanations, the students were impressed by the University's strong capabilities in scientific innovation and academic research.
The "Study Abroad at Zhejiang University" Winter Camp visit provided the Malaysian students with an excellent opportunity to learn more about ZJU, especially its Computer Science discipline. It served as a strong foundation and motivation for their future applications to study abroad at ZJU.
