Egypt's Blue Shift Delegation Visits the College of Computer Science and Technology at Zhejiang University

On December 16, 2024, the College of Computer Science and Technology at Zhejiang University welcomed a delegation from Egypt's Blue Shift. The meeting, held in the 223 Conference Room of the Cao Guangbiao East Building, focused on in-depth discussions regarding future cooperation agreements and specific collaborative efforts. The session was chaired by Qiao Liqing, Division Head of the Research and Foreign Affairs Office at ZJU's College of Computer Science. Attendees included Amr Hamed and Ahmed Hashem from Blue Shift, Sun Lingyun, Vice Dean of the College of Computer Science and Technology, Shen Wenbo, Deputy Director of the Department of Computer Science, Shen Rui, Deputy Director of the Computer Fundamentals Teaching Center, Wu Zhihang, Director of the Teaching Management Office, Ye Yihan, Internationalization Officer, Wang Fuxi , and Cheng Lin from the Development Center.

During the visit, both parties engaged in comprehensive discussions regarding the establishment of a university-industry partnership. In their opening remarks, Amr Hamed and Vice Dean Sun Lingyun expressed their hopes for future collaboration. Amr Hamed thanked ZJU for its warm reception and shared Blue Shift’s plans to establish a technology university in Egypt within the next five years. He also reviewed the foundation of prior communications with ZJU’s College of Computer Science and expressed his anticipation for strengthening future cooperation.

Vice Dean Sun Lingyun emphasized that the College of Computer Science and Technology at ZJU would collaborate closely with Blue Shift to deepen their partnership. This includes providing support to Egypt's emerging technology university in areas such as talent development, curriculum design, and faculty training, with the shared goal of nurturing future-oriented, exceptional talent.

Following the speeches, representatives from Blue Shift and ZJU’s faculty engaged in active discussions, working together to advance the implementation of future cooperative efforts.

Blue Shift (NGC Blue Shift Smart Learning), established in 2021, focuses on higher education industry-university cooperation. The organization aims to create the next-generation research institute, NGI, and provide learning and development opportunities for Egyptian youth aspiring to enter the field of artificial intelligence. It also seeks to foster the development of AI technologies and industries in Egypt.



The College of Computer Science and Technology educates future leaders in computer science with interdisciplinary innovation capabilities to address global challenges in the AI2.0 world.
