2020 Highlights
Prof. Kui Ren, the Vice Dean of the College of Computer Sciene and Technology, and Prof. Kun Zhou, the director of ZJU State Key Lab of CAD&CG were named as ACM Fellow.
Turing Laureate Silvio Micali was appointed as honorary professor of Zhejiang University.
Two undergraudate programs of CCST were selected into national pilot program for first-class undergraudate education. Eight courses were entitled as national first-class undergraudate courses.
Research team of CCST received the second National Prize of Science.
CAE academician Prof. Yunhe Pan published the paper Towards a new generation of artificial intelligence in China on Nature Machine Intelligence, presenting a panoramic view of AI development in China.
Research progress of the software engineering team on Automating Just-In-Time Comment Updating received the ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award. It is the third time they received the distinction in the past 3 years.
Seven gold medals were won by CCST students in the International Collegiate Programming Contest, Asian Region.
2019 Highlights
The College of Cyberspace Security was established in April 2019 to further promote the development in the discipline of Cyberspace Security.
In May 2019, CCST set up the Turing Honors Class in collaboration with Chu Kozhen Honors College. The Class engages preeminent experts(including academician of CAE & CAS) to become undergraduate memtors, and aims at cultivating top-notched talents in computer science with global competence. It admits the first cohort of 62 students in 2019.
The Paper by Prof. Shanpling Li won the Distinguished Paper Award in ASE 2019, a leading conference in software enginneering.
2018 Highlights
The pioneer of Public Key Encryption and Turing Lauterate Whitfield Diffie joined as full-time professor and serves as the honorary director of Zhejiang University Insistute of Cyberspace Security Research.
The Artificial Intelligence Collaborative Innovation Center was approved by The Ministry of Education.
Zhejiang University was selected as the first batch of Internet Space International Governance Research Base.
The doctoral program in design science was approved by The Academic Degree Office of the State Council.
The academic forum of Prof. He Zhijun was established. The first Artificial Intelligence Collaboration seminar was held at Yuquan Campus.
Dr. Weng Kai won the Zhejiang University Yongping Outstanding Teaching Contribution Award, receiving 1 Million RMB in reward.
2017 Highlights
Prof. Wu Zhaohui was elected as academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The Computer Science discipline was ranked among top 1‰(top 30) in the world.

Computer Science and Technology and Software Engineering disciplines were selected as national “Double First-Class” disciplines.

The courses on ‘Introduction to Programming - C Language’ by Dr. Weng Kai and ‘Data Structure’ by Prof. Chen Yue and Prof. He Qinming were recognized as national outstanding online open courses.
The establishment of doctoral program for cyberspace security was approved by The Academic Degree Office of the State Council.
The Institute of Cyberspace Research was established, and Prof. Ren Kui served as the first director.
2016 Highlights
The team of Prof. Wu Zhaohui won the first prize of Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Innovation Award.
Prof. Zhou Kun won Chen Jiageng Youth Science Award.
Prof. Chen Gang won the national first prize of Science and Technology Progress granted by MOE.
The establishment of doctoral degree in Cyberspace Security was approved by The State Council's Degree Office.
The Computer Science and Technology and Software Engineering disciplines were selected into the university-wide top discipline construction support plan.
In the 2016 ASC Student Supercomputer Competition (ASC16), the Zhejiang University team broke the world record of HPL computing performance in the supercomputer competition with an amazing performance of 12.03 teraflops per second with 3000W power consumption constraints.
PhD student Huang Butian's blockchain-based supply chain financial service platform project won the gold medal of the second China Internet+ College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition under supervisor He Qinming.
The Information Security undergraduate program was established to cultivate high-level talents in engineering and research who can pursue innovations in information security.
The College of Computer Science and Technology educates future leaders in computer science with interdisciplinary innovation capabilities to address global challenges in the AI2.0 world.
