2024 Highlights
l Zhejiang University established its School of Artificial Intelligence on August 12, 2024, integrating its historical foundations and cutting-edge resources to further solidify its leading position in AI education, research, and innovation.
l The college has made significant progress in building innovative platforms, having successfully secured approval for multiple provincial-level key laboratories while advancing national-level research platforms, with both the number of research projects undertaken and related funding reaching record highs.
l The college has achieved substantial research outcomes, winning numerous provincial, ministerial, and national-level science and technology awards, and earning honors such as Best Paper Awards at several top-tier international academic conferences, demonstrating its research impact.
l Through a balanced approach of recruitment and cultivation, the college has successfully attracted and nurtured a group of top-tier talents, including Changjiang Scholars and National Outstanding Young Scientists, strengthening its faculty team.
l Professor Zhuang Yueting was awarded the inaugural Qiushi Artificial Intelligence Science and Education Award—Outstanding Contribution Award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to AI technology and education.
l Zhejiang University was approved to establish the Statel Key Research Base for Textbook Development in Higher Education Artificial Intelligence, dedicated to building a world-class AI textbook system under the leadership of Academician Pan Yunhe.
l The project Intelligent Depiction of Civilization, led by Professor Chen Wei, received approval under the Ministry of Education’s Inheritance of Chinese Culture thematic initiative, utilizing AI and graphics technologies to preserve and promote Chinese culture.
